Yo. I just added an Ubuntu 11.04 system to my machine, but my M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 sound card didn’t work out of the box. Being used to Gentoo, I was not in despair, however my expectations of Ubuntu was that there was hardly any configuration needed at all.
Anyway, the solution to my problem proved to be simple. In the Hardware tab of the Sound settings, I changed the profile of my card to Analog Surround 4.0 Output. Basically any option with analog output works.
But why isn’t there an analog stereo profile? After all the card only has stereo output.
